Work Study

Federal work-study positions can be requested on a student’s financial aid application. Work-study funds are limited and available only to eligible students in the order that their financial aid applications are completed. When work-study funds are awarded, it is the student’s responsibility to locate and acquire a position at UIWRSO. If the student earns less than the awarded work-study amount, the monetary difference may be borrowed through one of the student loan programs.

Current Rosenberg School of Optometry work-study wages range from $9.00 to $12.00 per hour, depending upon the specific job and the nature of work. The student may average no more than 20 hours of work-study per week, though the time and concentration demands of the professional curriculum cause most students to work less than half this amount.
