Dr. James Chapman is the Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs and Director of Clinics at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry. He graduated with the Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1980. He also has a Master of Jurisprudence from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a Master of Science in Personnel Management from Troy State University. Dr. Chapman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is Certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Healthcare Compliance Association. Dr. Chapman served over 28 years in hospital-based optometry in various United States Air Force hospitals around the world. He was selected as the 1990 Colonel Floyd M. Morris Award Air Force Optometrist of the Year and the 1996 Armed Forces Optometric Society Optometrist of the Year. Dr. Chapman was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal and the Air Force Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
