Where advanced clinical training meets compassionate community-based healthcare

At the UIW Rosenberg School of Optometry (UIWRSO), we strive to offer our residents a supportive yet challenging clinical and didactic experience. As the only Optometry program in the U.S. that is affiliated with a faith based institution, our residents gain valuable clinical experiences serving diverse communities in need providing critical access to advanced vision care services. This comprehensive residency experience is delivered by the very best! Our residency faculty are topic experts, each residency trained and many with advanced degrees to include Diplomate status within their given optometric specialties.

The UIWRSO Residency Program offers a post-doctoral degree designed to advance your preparation as a provider of patient care services beyond entry level practice for a Doctor of Optometry. Our Residency Programs are a minimum of twelve months and are composed of appropriately supervised clinical eye/vision care provided by the resident. Our Residency Program curriculums also includes a mix of self-directed learning, seminar participation, instructional experiences and scholarship.

Currently UIWRSO offers multiple internal and external residency programs, many with additional areas of emphasis within the following optometric categories:
