Dr. Jeff C. Rabin is a tenured Professor of Optometry and Assistant Dean for Research, Assessment and Graduate Studies at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry, where he teaches courses in vision science, optics and binocular vision. Dr. Rabin received his Bachelor of Science in Physiological Psychology with highest honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and Doctor of Optometry, Masters of Science and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in Physiological Optics from the University of California at Berkeley.
After more than 20 years of service in the US Army in various clinical, research and managerial roles, Dr. Rabin served as Associate Professor at Pacific University College of Optometry, where he taught courses in vision science, research methods and neurobiology, and directed the MS in Clinical Optometry and OD Thesis Programs. Since December 2004, Dr. Rabin served as Chief, Visual Function Laboratory, Aerospace Ophthalmology US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine and remains a part-time Senior Scientist for the School of Aerospace Medicine.
Dr. Rabin has published more than seventy papers and case reports spanning his clinical and research careers, and continues to develop new tests of color vision and contrast sensitivity. Dr. Rabin has served as a primary consultant for visual perception and member of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry Optics and Refractive Conditions Committee, holds active licensure in several states, is a Fellow and Diplomate in Vision Science and Electrodiagnosis in the American Academy of Optometry, and member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American and Texas Optometric Associations, and Aerospace Medical Association.
