Jeannette Wong-Powell, O.D.

Clinical Assistant Professor

Dr. Jeannette A. Powell is a Mexico City native and enthusiast for the optometric profession from an early age. She attended Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio where she completed a degree in Biology and then accepted a scholarship to the University of Houston College of Optometry. During her training in Houston, Dr. Powell dedicated herself to all aspects of primary care as well as advanced proficiency in pediatrics and binocular vision. Dr. Powell completed residency training at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System in Fort Wayne, Indiana specializing in diagnosis and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and surgical co-management. Dr. Powell is passionate about outstanding, yet down to earth, patient care that reflects the importance of eye care for complete well-being. She is naturally bilingual in English and Spanish, and enjoys providing comprehensive and premium care to patients of all ages. Dr. Powell is thrilled to be living in New Braunfels where she plans to enjoy as many activities as possible in the company of her husband, young daughter and two dogs.
