Dr. A. Philip Aitsebaomo, who was born in Nigeria, obtained a B.S. in Biology, a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.), and a master's degree in Physiological Optics from Indiana University. He moved to Houston in 1981, to pursue a Ph.D. in Physiological Optics at the University of Houston College of Optometry. On completion of his education, he was appointed to the faculty at the University Of Houston College Of Optometry where he remained for three years. Because of his passion for patient care, he opened a private practice, Alpha Eyecare Associates in 1991, but maintains an adjunct faculty position at the University of Houston.
Dr. Aitsebaomo has researched, published and lectured extensively in his areas of interest. He is actively involved in clinical research for major contact lens manufacturers. His other areas of interest include information technology (IT), politics, and civic activities. He is a husband and father of two. He has been appointed to several boards and headed numerous community building activities.
