Chantelle (Belle) Ribisi, OD

Clinical Assistant Professor Faculty

Dr. Chantelle Ribisi graduated from the College of Staten Island in her hometown of NYC with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She traveled over 1,800 miles to San Antonio, Texas where she graduated cum laude from the Rosenberg School of Optometry. While in school she was an active member of the community: vice president of SGA, president of clubs such as SVOSH and Gold Key Honor Society, and a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society among others. Dr. Ribisi was on multiple student committees, was a student ambassador, and worked as a both tutor and lab TA for many courses. She also participated in/organized fundraising and vision screening events and was blessed to be able to embark on two mission trips.

Dr. Ribisi was honored to be the recipient of several awards and scholarships throughout her time as student, including national recognition. Following graduation, Dr. Ribisi did a one-year residency at the San Antonio VA hospital with an emphasis in ocular disease and polytrauma. Before starting at RSO, she worked in a primary care private practice where she developed a love for pediatrics and fitting soft contact lenses.

Her goal is to continue to be an active part of the UIWRSO community, to help succeeding students find as much knowledge, joy, and passion within the walls of RSO as she herself found. Outside of optometry, she is a devoted mother and wife.
